Right of reply, sentence by sentence

What they printed.
What the other side says.

One column for the sentence that was published. One column for the reply of the person it is about, with the document. You decide in five seconds who is right.

This is how a case reads

What the outlet published

“The council never granted the licence.”

What the person named replies

The licence was granted on 4 March 2021.

How a case works

  1. 01

    A sentence, not an article

We quote one checkable sentence and link to the original. We never republish the piece.

  2. 02

    The clock starts

The outlet and the person named are told, and they get 72 hours. The clock is public.

  3. 03

The reply goes next to it

Unedited, in full, in the column beside the sentence. Then it is sealed: it can be corrected later, and the earlier version stays public.

Get told when a case opens

One email when a case opens and one when somebody replies. Nothing else, ever.
